The last couple months

I didn't realize it's been over a year since we posted on here. Yikes! Where to begin? 

Well, Brielle has been doing really well lately, as far as development goes. She's walking a little on her own but still prefers to crawl. Her speech is coming along as well. She can sing entire songs. She can recite and recognize her entire alphabet. She can count to 20...and can recognize 1-10. She still has a hard time with pronouncing certain sounds, but we can understand most of what she says. 

She started going to "school" back in September. Right now she just goes to the school for her therapies 3 days a week (speech, physical, and occupational). She also goes to the hospital once a week for speech and physical therapy. So our weeks are pretty busy! 

Brielle is still dealing with her "episodes" each month. We recently saw a new neurologist who specializes in pediatric headaches/migraines. She put Brielle on 2 new medicines. She takes Topamax each day as a preventative medication and if we start seeing symptoms starting, we give her Clonazepam. 

The Topamax doesn't seem to be making much of a difference, but the Clonazepam seems to be making a huge improvement with the severity and length of her migraines. Her episodes would last up to 8 days and the past 2 episodes only lasted 2 days. We'll take it! Of course, we'd still like for her to not deal with this issue at all. Hopefully, more answers will come. More than anything, we continue to trust in the Lord to provide wisdom and strength. He is faithful!

 We took our first trip to a pumpkin patch this year to pick out our pumpkins. Brielle became obsessed with pumpkins this year. She always wanted to have a pumpkin with her. She even asked to have one to hold in bed. :)

Cody, Brielle, and I decked out in our Dallas Cowboy jerseys in honor of the start the NFL season. Cody is a huge football fan. Brielle likes watching any sport with balls. I couldn't care less about football. I just love my husband...who happens to love football. 

 Brielle LOVES snow. She must have my snow-loving-blood running through her veins. She was so excited when she woke up yesterday morning to see snow on the ground. We couldn't get out there fast enough! She got pretty upset when it was time to come in and warm up. She insisted on spending more time outside. So to compromise, I put her rocking chair in front of the front door so she could look at the snow.

Brielle is feeling a lot more confident with walking on her own. We took her to the playground last week and she did awesome and had a ton of fun!
